These days, people expect immediate action, and immediate results.
Part of what drives this is that we are now so technology enabled in every way. We have text messaging, Jabber, Slack, Hipchat and other instant messaging tools. Even email is virtually instantaneous. Everybody expects everything to be done that easily and quickly.
When we launch a program, or when we're doing our initial discovery to design a new program, we often hear our customer say, "Now that you know what the issues are, let’s get them fixed in three months."
I have to help the client understand that, while we will shoot for that goal, people don't always move at that pace, in terms of making changes, and shifting and evolving from current state to future state. A complete process can't be redesigned and successfully implemented overnight. - Alex
